Well...we have been out of school for 6 days now...2 of those being the weekend. We have spent most of those completely cooped up in our house. But today was beautiful...so we had to build a snowman...or the kids version of a snowman....here are some pictures.

This is a trip we took back in September, but I thought it would make for a good blog. Stoney was invited to sing the National Anthem at a Chicago Cubs game. (Yes, Sam...I was thinking about you the entire time...and wondering just exactly why it never worked out with Mark Grace :) Stoney has played in Chicago many times...and along the way has become good friends with a few of the Cub's players. This was my first trip to Chicago...and I loved it!! Beautiful city...I can see why so many love living there. We brought along C.J. and Avery. (Anabella stayed at home for this trip) And my dad and brother came too!! I have attached a few pictures below...

They let us come early for batting practice. I don't think C.J. even moved...he stood right behind the plate and got to meet some of the players...he was in heaven :)

We had a lot of fun and we were so proud of STONEY. He got to throw out the first pitch (a little high, but straight down the middle)

He sang beautifully and we ate at least one bite of every snack in the place!!

STILL ALIVE

Just wanted to let everyone know....the phillips family is still alive and doing well. I have been a little side tracked over the last....well, it looks like over the last 6 months. Stoney's schedule really picks up in the fall...and then that leads into the holiday season. So, I have missed 3 birthday blogs...and several wonderful events. (But my kids did get dinner every night...and a warm bed to sleep in :)

Avery is currently playing basketball and indoor soccer...she just turned 8 in December and I can't believe how fast she is growing...well, I guess I should say, aging. I guess she is growing, just slowly. She reminds me so much of Kristen and I. And she looks just like us playing basketball.

C.J. turned 5 in October...and is always on the go. He loves sports...basketball, soccer, football, and baseball. Really anything his cousin Reece does, he wants to do. He keeps telling me he wants a brother...when I say..."you want a little brother?" He tells me no...he wants a BIG BROTHER!! So, I guess Reece will have to do...unless there is a big brother lingering somewhere that I don't know about :)

Anabella...sweet little anabella right?? Wrong!!! Well, she can be sweet, she looks sweet, but as many of you mother's know...2 year olds have another side to them. She is in the middle of potty training...a full time job :) Seriously...her hiney is so small...she can barely hold up her tinker bell panties. We love her dearly...we just hope we survive this phase :)

Stoney is working on his next record. So when he isn't on tour....he is making trips back and forth to Nashville. So, we have only had him home a few days over the last couple of months. (We did get him an entire week at Christmas!!)

So, just wanted to give you a quick catch-up blog and let everyone know....we are doing great!!

HOURS of Dancing Fun!!

Avery had her very first dance recital on Sunday!! She started taking Jazz/Hip Hop mid-January and loves it. Please try to ignore all the make-up, well I guess some of you can compare it to the "old cheerleading days" of redlipstick and extra blush :) Avery was so excited that her family came to watch. (She did tell me as we were going in, to make sure I sat in the back, so that she couldn't see me...that will probably never change) Kamryn came along and sat through the entire 3 hour performance. 48 total dances to be exact. Avery was in two of them...#3 and #42, so let's just say we had quite a wait between dances. My dad was able to keep his eyes open the entire time...we did lose C.J. shortly into #10 or so. Thanks Mandy, Ryan, and Reece for watching Layne and Anabella!! Hopefully this will be the first of many recitals, you did GREAT AVERY!!

C.J.'s 1st MEDAL

Last weekend, C.J. played in his first t-ball tournament. That's right, he is 4 and played in a tournament. We all drove the boys to Midwest City and played 4 games. This was a 5 and under tournament and all of our players are either 3 or 4...so we were definitely the youngest team there. Of course the boys were more interested in the sno-cones and the playground. But they did a great job!! They ended up getting 4th place and got a metal. Can you tell how excited C.J. was to get his medal...I think he slept with it that night!!

I posted about Avery's soccer and C.J.'s t-ball...so I thought some of you might be missing Anabella. She is growing like a weed and getting more and more independent by the day!! I would have to say her biggest hobby right now is....EATING. This girl eats more than I do, and I'm not kidding. Here is a picture I took a couple of weeks ago of her in her stroller at the zoo. She was so good, especially in this picture (I did have to remove the nacho cheese doritos from her hands to take the picture)

C.J. just started playing t-ball this year. He is only 4...and some of the kids on his team are only 3. He is so excited to be playing. He got to pick his number himself and of course he picked number 5, just like REECE. He want's to do EVERYTHING Reece does. And I couldn't pick a better role model, we love our Reece.

C.J. has played 2 games and they have won them both. Here is a picture of C.J. playing catcher. He switches between that and 3rd base. Doesn't he look adorable...I'm sorry, doesn't he look AWESOME!!

Welcome to Oklahoma!!

I can't say I am suprised at this drastic weather change, but after having temperatures in the mid-80's on sunday...and then dropping into the 30's today...well, lets just say welcome to Oklahoma!! I have attached two pictures below. The first one was taken this morning and the second one was taken Sunday afternoon.

This is a picture standing on my front porch...it just looks cold!!

I know, I know, C.J. couldn't find his swimming trunks, so he did what any brilliant child would do and found a pair of his sisters bikini bottoms. This is a sure sign that Stoney has been on the road for WAY to long!!

Soccer Time

I noticed Mandy posted some pictures of Kamryn playing soccer, so I thought I better get one up of Avery. This is just a still shot before her first game. I find it nearly impossible to take action shots while trying to chase C.J. and Anabella around the soccer fields. This is Avery's first year to play soccer and she is having so much fun!! The name of her team is the Black Eagles and her best friend from school is on the same team. The only bad thing for Avery is, she isn't on the same team as Kamryn. When her coach found out they were going to be playing Kamryn's team in a couple of weeks, she asked Avery if she was going to BEAT her cousin. Avery responded with...."I hope we tie"

The Clubhouse Break-In

Avery and Kamryn have made a clubhouse in a small closet under the stairs. Everytime Kamryn comes over, they get in there and color, do crafts, and eat snacks. It is their way to escape the stresses of everyday life!! (We all have a place like this) Anyway, they have even gone to the trouble of putting a sign on the door, showing it is THEIR clubhouse. It used to even have a sign that said OPEN or CLOSED. C.J. gets yelled at if he even comes within 5ft. of this place.

Well, the other day Layne came over for a few hours...I'm not sure where Avery was at the time. Let's just say, the "little girls" got very quiet and when we were yelling for them, there was NO RESPONSE. So, Kristen found this. We did manage to get them out of there and pretty much cleaned up before Avery saw anything.

So, Avery and Kamryn...it might be time to put up a couple of NO TRESPASSING signs, and maybe even look into getting a LOCK for the door!!

Since Stoney was out of town for Valentine's Day, we celebrated it this week. He took me to the Skirvin for dinner and then to the Thunder/Lakers game. This was my first Thunder game and was as much fun as I had hoped!! I love sports and always have, and the Lakers...are you kidding me, this was my favorite team growing up, so I was excited!! I took a few pictures at the game. And just so you know...I am NOT...need I say it again....NOT a Kobe Bryant fan, but I just couldn't resist. Also, I posted a photo of Rumble, the NEW Thunder mascot and a photo of Stoney and I. And I didn't leave Stoney out...I got him a RED KitchenAid mixer. I know to some it may sound a little silly, but Stoney has been wanting one for a while and has been thanking me for it for days now. We can't wait for him to make us some cookies!! :)

The kids were out of school on Tuesday and Wednesday for SNOW DAYS...well, it was more like ICE DAYS, but we will take what we can get. The kids kept asking if they could go out and play in it...and after hours of nagging, Stoney and I finally agreed, even though it was basically just a sheet of ice...yes, dangerous ice!! Don't they look happy in these pictures??

1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? Niether...I don't drink HOT beverages, Never really have.

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? Unwrapped under the tree

3. Colored lights on house/tree or white lights? This is where Stoney and I disagree. I am a red/white light girl. So our tree has just red and white lights. But since Stoney has always let me have my way, the kids and I decorated a tree with colored lights for him and put it in our bedroom.

4. Do you hang mistletoe? If I had some I would...what a great tradition!!

5. When do you put your decorations up? The first day Stoney is home after Thanksgiving...but I made sure our outside decorations were up before Thanksgiving, so we could have them on that night!!

6. What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)? Turkey and pototoes (I eat potatoes any way they come)

7. Favorite holiday memory as a child? I'm with my sisters on this one...church on Christmas Eve...nothing beats that!!

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? I don't even remember...I think I blocked it from my memory.

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? Yes...I buy everyone an ornament that they get to open and the kids get Christmas jammies.

10. How do you decorate your tree? First we turn on our Christmas music. Stoney sets it up and gets the lights on and working. Usually I hook the ornaments and the kids put them on the tree. Then we shut off all the lights and count to 3 and turn on the Christmas lights...beautiful!!

11. Snow! Love it or dread it? LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!! (Living in South Texas, this was probably what I missed the most)

12. Can you ice skate? Would love to try it!!

13. Do you remember your favorite gift? I don't remember my favorite, but I remember Kristen's (the Oh so popular, LAKERS JACKET!!)

14. What is the most important thing about the holidays for you? Being with FAMILY!!

15. What is your favorite holiday dessert? Cherry Pie (Is this considered a holiday dessert?)

16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? Going to church on Christmas Eve and we are starting a new on this year...(Stoney is going to start reading..."Twas the night before christmas" before bed on Christmas Eve.)

17. What tops your Christmas tree? A Santa Claus

18. Which do you prefer-giving or receiving? I love shopping for other people!! And nothing beats a kid on Christmas morning...I remember what that feels like.

19. What is your favorite Christmas song? Joy to the World!!

20. Candy Canes-yum or yuck? Yum...I mean I would rather have a kit-kat, but I'll take a candy cane

21. What do you want for Christmas? I asked for a NEW purse this year, but other than that...nothing really.

22. Do you attend an annual Christmas party? Stoney and I attended one this year. A buddy of his in Dallas. He owns his own bar...and it was a lot of fun!!

23. Do you dress up on Christmas or wear PJs? I wear p.j.'s in the morning, but put on jeans later that day.

Okay...Avery's birthday isn't actually until Dec. 22nd, but with the holidays we decided to celebrate a little early this year. She had a party with the family earlier in the day, and then got together with some of her girlfriends for a party at "Sweet and Sassy" that afternoon. (I will post pictures on this later :) She had so much fun!! I think her favorite present may have been her giftcard to 7-Eleven from her aunt Kristen. She loves 7-Eleven. (Goes to show, how kids seem to love the simplest things sometimes)

Okay, finally a post from me, can you all believe it??

1. My favorite CHRISTMAS SONG is Joy to the World. Not sure why, it always has been...I just love it!!

2. I HATE doing LAUNDRY...why can't we just have disposable clothes and throw them out at the end of the day!??

3. I LOVE my husband's cooking...no matter what it is, it is ALWAYS yummy!! He really has no idea what a good cook he is.

4. I am addicted to GLAMOUR magazine...I read it every month...usually after the kids go to bed, I spend at least 30 minutes either reading my glamour or watching the Kardashians.

5. I can't stand people who TALK on their CELL phones in restaurants. Seriously, can't you turn that thing off for 30 minutes and let us all eat in peace??

6. I am a sucker for ANIMALS...I would have a 100 dogs if I could. Ever since I was little I loved animals and I think Avery has taken on this trait!!

Today is C.J.'s birthday...he is 4 TODAY!! I can't believe it. It seems like yesterday when he was tearing through the house, screaming and yelling...(oh, wait...that was yesterday!!) However, he is getting so big and is turning out to be such a sweet little boy (wasn't too sure if this day would ever come) He has been my handful, but I wouldn't trade him for anything. We love you C.J., Happy Birthday!!

A Halloween Sneak Peek

I know Halloween is still a little over a week away, but because they don't have Halloween parties at school anymore, one of Avery's friends had a Halloween party/sleep-over on Thursday. Here is Avery in what I like to call her "funky witch" costume. She picked it out herself. I think the new eye shadow and black lipstick were her favorite part of her costume. Anyone that knows Avery, knows she is quite the accessory queen. She loves shoes, make-up, purses, and jewelry. In fact...a girl can NEVER have enough lipgloss on or necklaces around her neck. C.J. on the other hand could care less if he even has socks on each day...and 9 out of 10 times if he is wearing socks, they are dirty socks :) Happy Halloween...can't wait to see everyone elses costumes!!

Music Benefiting Breast Cancer Research

Okay...I am a little behind. I am just now posting my pictures from our Benefit Concert benifiting Susan G. Komen and breast cancer research. Many of you already know that I am taking a HUGE challenge in November. Me, along with several other girls are going to San Diego, CA to walk for the Cause. It is a 3 day 60 mile walk and I am so excited. We have been raising money for several months and currently our team is in 4th place. (Raising over $48,000)But with the help of our wonderful husbands and friends, we just raised over $25,000 more hosting a benefit concert at Cheatham Street Warehouse in San Marcos, TX. We had 10 artist donate their time...(thank you Stoney!!) We also had a silent auction, where many artist donated items (we even had a pair of George Strait's jeans donated :) ) It was all a lot of fun and for a great cause!! I keep seeing everyone's back to school posts. And I think the only thing harder than taking your kid to kindergarten is...taking her to 1st grade. Mandy, you should be glad you didn't have to drop her off. It just means they are 1 year older. Avery is getting so big (or I guess I should say old) She is so independent, which is good...it just means she needs me a little less!! (Not an easy thing to deal with as a mom) She is such a good kid and I know she is going to have a wonderful year!!

Avery had just turned 4 in these pictures and C.J. was just over a year old. Aren't they cute!! The picture of C.J. looks just like Anabella. We had taken them to Steamboat after Christmas that year for a festival Stoney was playing. They sure did love playing in the snow...you know in the 5 years we lived in TX, it only snowed 1 time? The kids are excited about having more chances to build snowmen now that we are back in OK.

Avery is a big fan of photo booth. She will spend hours on my computer making funny faces and taking photos of herself. She has actually got more creative with it. I love it because usually when I get on my computer in the mornings...I open it up to "new" photo booth pictures of her. They are always good for a laugh!! NEW HOUSE!!

Here is a picture of our NEW HOUSE. We bought a house in Edmond, OK. Many of you saw the house that Mandy had blogged about earlier. We had an offer in on that house, but after waiting and waiting to hear back on it...we decided to move on!! We had basically decided on this one neighborhood (Rose Creek) so we had narrowed our search. I would look at the website 100 times a day...and finally a new house popped up. I loved it!! So, again I sent my sisters over to look at it...and we put in an offer via email!! I didn't actually get to see the house until 2 weeks before we closed...thank goodness it was even more beautiful than I had imagined!! So, we are finally getting settled and happy to be back home!!

Okay, so I have heard all the harsh words about me NEVER BLOGGING, so here it goes. I am going to do my best at catching everyone up on the last couple of months of chaos!! We moved from New Braunfels, TX the middle of June. Things have been crazy ever since. We definatly miss New Braunfels, but being closer to family has been GREAT!! Here are some photos of Avery and her Texas friends before we left. She got everyone together for a slumber party...and all I am going to say is...."I won't ever do that again!!" What was I thinking?? But the most important thing was, she had fun!!

Oklahoma Bound

Well...it is official...we accepted on offer on our house and the timing couldn't have been more perfect. We close June 17th...and then will be headed to Oklahoma. I am so excited...and so our the kids. Finally closer to Kamryn, Reece, and Layne. C.J. can't wait to have someone to play baseball with (Reece, you better start practicing, C.J. has quite the swing!!) And Kamryn, I hope you are ready for lots of swimming and slumber parties!! Layne, I don't know what to say...finally someone you can boss around? (Anabella takes orders very well) I'm excited to get back to SOONER country...you can't even buy an OU shirt south of Austin. We really love New Braunfels, but Oklahoma is our HOME...I just can't wait to get there and get settled in!! And Annie, if you are reading this...we will get together more...I promise!!

Well, Stoney celebrated his 31st birthday on Monday. I took the kids to pick out presents for him. Avery suggested Target (mother like daughter). I decided this year i wasn't going to give them any of my impute and just see what they picked for him. Avery decided on the obvious...Simpson's 7th season DVD (she really knows the way to Stoney's heart!!) Oh...and the practical side or her (again...she gets this from me) purchased a package of socks. C.J. was a little more out there with his choices. (I think he had some alterior motives with his gifts) He picked a basketball...I didn't tell him it was actually a women's basketball...and a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse CD. (Who doesn't want a CD full of Mickey and friends singing??) Because Anabella isn't quite old enough to pick something for her dad...the Avery and C.J. thought a 45oz of peanut m&m's would be good...it is his favorite candy!! Of course he loved all of his gifts...and the mini-birthday party we threw him was a lot of fun!! I have attached a picture of the cake they made for him.

You may have noticed, one of our most important family members is missing from the Disneyland photo. So, I had to add a picture of Anabella Rose. She is the best baby EVER...she really has more of her dad's personality, but i say...she has my beautiful looks!! :) Just kidding, she looks exactly like Avery and C.J. looked when they were that age. (ALL STONEY) Which I am absolutely okay with!!

Okay...so all of that peer pressure was starting to get to me. I figured...it would just be easier to start one of these blogs...rather than continue to listen to all the nagging from my sisters and friends. Not sure how often I will be posting, but I will try my best. I hope this inspires me to take more photos of the kids...and it will give me a place to tell some of my day to day happenings (which should at least be good for a few laughs!!) With a husband always on the road and three kids at home...things definately get a little interesting at times. Even Stoney doesn't believe some of my stories!!
